Trackmania Nations

Yeah, a huge download. But it’s probably one of the best free games ever made.

TM united

This is the essence of TM United, loops.

Of course, there are regular tracks, but the real reason I love this game is because of these insane loops, wallrides, wallride into loops, loop in to wallrides.. corkscrew loops… You’re lucky if you’re able to keep up with the track. In some cases, the speeds can get up to 600 mph. There are default tracks that come with the game, but they don’t feature any really cool stuff, and in fact, it is widely known that they suck.

To really get the TM experience, you have to make a user name, go online, and find a good server. Firstly though, there are a few things you should know. the arrow keys move you, and enter is to replay the track. Tech tracks are usually tracks made to test skill with the controls, and don’t feature many loops normally. Once you find a good server with an interesting track, start racing!

Don’t be discouraged if you can’t make loops very well at all at first, you’ll get used to it. Most of the fun with a lot of tracks is just seeing if you can beat them. Come to think of it, I haven’t seen a single person who has made 3 tracks in a row without crashing once!

Oh, and as a side note, even though they suck, and do not represent most of the tracks you’ll find online, you’re still probably going to want to practice on the default tracks before you start playing online.
